Cleaning dross with air chisel

I have tried all methods of dross removal, and I thought I'd share what I've found to works best.
For most things, an air chisel. put in a flat chisel, turn the air pressure right down so it is just hammering slow, and get at it! The vibration seems to make the dross fly. Sometime you gotta hit it at different angles, put it is by far the easiest way of chipping slag.
If I have small very detailed items, I usually put them in muratic acid, but the air chisel is very controllable on fine detail and works very well for detailed stuff too.

I haven't seen this method suggested before, so I thought I'd share.
I just use a cheap one because you don't need lots of hammering power.

I have tried an air chisel. I got good results like you except on detailed items.

Suggestion on the air chisel. TANTO grind the the chisel. Meaning one angle like the blade on a plane.
Grabs the dross better and allows you to operate at a lower angle which will be less likely to glide over the dross.

I have been using them for a while.. Kind of prefer this brand for most of my air tools.. You pay a price for smooth, and quiet. Air file is awesome too..Ebay can take a lot of the sting out of the price.. Air grinders are beyond smooth..

I have been using an air chisel from the Chinese place for years. Works great! Been looking for a round one like in the link Brand X posted. Thanks for the info. I think it would be easier to use than the pistol shaped handle.

Harbor Freight, has an inline regulator and a one sided taper so you can lay flat and not drive into the metal or details.
