Jim (or anybody else),
I have a Powermax 65 and presently use 65 amp and 45 amp finecut nozzles. Is there any advantage/disadvantage to using a 45 amp (220941) versus a 65 amp set at 45 amps?

Thinner kerf, better angularity. Compared to the Finecut parts, your kerf will be wider, but nozzles will last far longer. I think your cut speed will be higher, too, but you'd better check the tables to confirm (I don't have them here).
Best of luck!

Re: HP 65 amp nozzle vs. 45 amp
I realize the kerf would be wider than the finecut, but would the cut be basically the same as the 65 amp turned down to 45 amps. As I'd mentioned earlier, we've never used the 45 amp and I was wondering if there'd be any advantage to them other than running at a lower amperage.

If you use any nozzle at less than its design amperage you will get a lower energy density arc, this will cause slower cuts speeds, worse edge angularity, dross, warpage. If yoy want to cut at 45 amps the best performance is with a 45 amp nozzle.

Jim, that's what I needed to know. And just out of curiousity...other than maybe the hole, what's the physical difference between the 45 and 65 amp nozzles?
Thanks,
Allen

They are very similar. They are also patented for their "conical Flow" technology. The 85 amp and 105 amp nozzles for the larger systems (Powermax85 and Powermax105) are similar as well, same torch.
