Thanks for the video Tom! That looks like a very effective tool for stripping your metal down to a bare surface, and faster than my usual wire wheel method. What RPM is your flap disc running at?

The VFD was showing about 30 RPM, with the diameter of disc that is a good speed. With the VFD the speeds can be varied for the operations dependent on what you are sanding/grinding as to the aggression you want.

Are you using a 3 phase motor?

No sir still getting dust on it, I have not actively tried to sell it, other then posting here.
AS with my tables and the other grinders one will pop up and buy it, The last grinder I sold was by contract with a guy in Calif, and he also arranged the shipping. I have no ides what he paid for shipping but he is happy.

I am very fortunate, acourtjester made one of his 2" X 72" belt sanders for me. It has been a wonderful tool. In fact I was using it Sunday making some brackets for one of my son's projects. The belt sander has adjustable speed, which I was not sure about, but now that I have it, I use it more than I would have imagined. It runs smooth and quiet, and the belt tracks well. It has been a nice add to my home shop. Yes, it was over your budget, but worth consideration.

Tom - that is a glowing review from your California customer. You could always set it up with one of your flap wheels and use it as a second sander/grinder in your shop. Or maybe post is on Craigslist. I liked the plywood covers on the last one you shipped - something to keep "prying hands" out during shipping.

Thanks David I don't have that much room in my shop (30X20)
It is so easy to switch between the belt to flap wheel adapter, no need for 2 grinders. The other one is on a stand with wheels so I can move it around if needed.
