New 2" X 72" Belt Grinder for sale

New 2” X 72” Belt Grinder

Newly constructed belt grinder with new 2 HP 3 PH motor and single Phase 220 volt AC to 3 Phase VFD. The power cable is long enough so the VFD can be located away from the grinder to keep metal dust out. The grinder has a tilting belt setup and the grinding table can be tilted as well. This is custom build using 1/4” walled square tubing and 3/8” steel plate. Is sold as shown with 2 new belts. Part of my hobby is building Tools and this is the sixth of these belt grinders I built. I use one in my shop and the others were sold. This will be the last I will build. Attached image shows the grinder I use with the new one. 3/8" steel parts cut on my DIY plasma table.
Price is $900. cash to be picked up at my location.

That's an very nice tool for the price. I think I paid over $600 for my Grizzly knife sanders back in 2017 and they don't have nearly the capability of the tool that Tom has built. This is a great deal!!

Maybe disassemble it and box it up and ship it UPS ground. If you sign up for Stamps.com, you will get a good discount - much cheaper than going to the UPS store and paying full retail.

I did crate up the last one and sent it to guy in California by he setup the shipping pickup and payment. This thing is not light and a wooded crate will add to the price sorry. But if your will I can do that again. Not sure if the plywood covering is needed.

What are the dimensions of the crate and how much does it weigh? If it's over about 90 lbs, then probably UPS freight would be the way to go.

Great looking unit and great price. I have been wanting one but surprised by how much a Burr King or something similar costs. Would come grab one if you were closer. Nice work Tom.

To sweeten the deal I will crate the grinder for shipping free, you arrange for shipping. The last one I sold went to Southern California, he had a trucking company come by and pick it up at my home. I think is was Few Ex ground but could be wrong on that.

Thanks Tom, that certainly would sweeten the deal for anyone interested. I know that the exchange rate to USD, freight, duty, brokerage, taxes, etc to get that me would cost more than I could spend right now. Tom - have you had any luck with the sale of your Belt Grinder? It looks like a quality tool that most any fabricator would be lucky to have in their workshop.

No I still have it, My guess nobody wants to have a vacation in Florida and pick it up.
Here are some auxiliary shafts I built for the one I use, allows the base to drive other wheels for different jobs. One used those fiber wheels for surface cleaning, and the other is for a wire wheel, Flap sanding discs, or polishing wheels. These are shown in the attached Videos. They do not go with the one I'm selling, easy to built.

Tom - those are some great accessories for the belt grinder! Some creative thinking on your part. I have not seen large flap wheels like the ones you show. Did you make them?

Yes sir drew up the disc in Inkscape and routed on my table, 3-D printed the spacers for glue up alignment. I used 3/4" plywood for the discs, the brushes are calls chemical brushes for a wide bristle.

Tom - that's quite a project to make those rotary flap discs. Could you show an example of what it actually does to the metal when you use it. Maybe before/after pictures, or a video showing it being used. I'd really like to see how effective it is - just in case I might want to make one.
