Good to see folks using SolidEdge
Mo - my recent renewed interest in Solid Edge 2D was initiated by someone at the Inkscape group wanting to know if anyone was using Inkscape for drawing blueprints. So no 3D or solid modeling, only 2D drawings. I suggested that they might have better luck using Solid Edge 2D instead of Inkscape. I went ahead and downloaded it myself just to check it out again.
It looks like it will do what they want for creating these drawings. I have been messing around with it a bit, and so far I see no way to import a dxf file to an existing Solid Edge 2D Drafting 2024 - 2D Model. This is quick and easy to do with Design Edge, Inkscape, LightBurn, etc. What am I missing?
The only way I have been able to do it is to use Solid Edge 2D to create two separate drawing files, export each one as dxf, import them to another cad program - then export as a single dxf file and import it back into Solid Edge 2D.
There must be a better method. Please advise.
Thanks,
David
