Duplicate & Accurately Locate Objects in CorelDRAW

Post by CorelDRAW for Plasma »

In this video we create a grid pattern showing you how to quickly and accurately duplicate and locate objects in your design space.

These duplicate and locate functions can be used on any object in Corel and is something you will end up using often.

Step and repeat saves having to click for each line as you can specify off set as well as total number of objects.

Justin - I followed you procedure, but after creating the second line and setting the spacing as you showed in your video - I do the Ctrl D and it moves it over and up by 1/4" each time. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong.

Steve - thanks for the tip. I am new to CorelDraw and just learning some of the tools. I tried the Step and Repeat and it works great.
I did the vertical lines first, then drew a horizontal line and did that one to create my "grid".

David,
Yes I have used it for nesting of exterior cuts like you posted, if the part has holes in it I use the SheetCam nesting option as you only have to select contours once prior to the nest function.

If your duplicate line becomes un-selected at any point the duplication co-ordinates will be lost. You can select the line again and duplicate however it will use the default offset which is x.25 y.25 unless a different default offset has been set by the user.

Definitely Step and Repeat is fast, easy and ideal for this grid pattern or any other identical duplicating pattern. Thanks SegoMan.
