Diy tumbler vibrating deburring tool

Post by TTMotorsports »

Does anyone have any diy building a vibrating tumbler type setup to put parts in to deburr them and remove the dross? I've seen some that companies sell and make but I'm more of a diy guy. Thanks

I didn't search and I see this thread below. Gonna get a cement mixer I found online for $50 and give it a whirl.

I think the concept shown in the post you attached is better for the DIY group, far less complicated to build. Cheap cement mixer :Yay

I imagine the vibrating type would be quite a bit gentler on the parts as well as much quieter.

I made a quick one with expanded metal for the drum and put it on a pipe threader.
So the speed isnt super fast. It works. Let me see if I can figure out how to post a video.

You could upload your video to Youtube, then post the link.

See if this works.
I had a pile of 1/2" parts to deburr and I didnt feel like grinding them.
This was just slapped together.
I think I'll make a stainless one with solid sides and maybe put angle inside, I think I'll try garnet and see if I can clean stainless parts.

I'm not sure what it turns at... It's a Rigid 300 pipe threader. I did a quick search on what RPM's they turn at and didnt come up with anything.
