Start point optimisation
I was wondering if anyone knew of a function in sheetcam where the start points could be placed to prevent warping of the plate being cut. I know I can change them myself to get this, and it may cause most jobs to double in time it takes to cut but it could help me prevent some warping over a large quantity of piercings.

Easy Ben,
in your jet cutting operation, go to the "cut path" tab. Then under the "cutting rules" section, select "minimise thermal distortion".

Hi Keith,
I've just gone to sheetcam and tried what you suggested. I have no rules in the drop down. Do I need to make a rule up? How do I do that or is there a place where I can download a rule set? Forgive me for being slow on the uptake.

Re: Start point optimisation
Load a job, double-click on an operation in the list, then go to cut-path tab and its in there

Hi Ben,
Sheetcams path rules are very different to this rule in the jet cutting operation box.
As Dave explained you have to have a part loaded then your cut operation(s) will appear. You then double click on the operation and the operation box will pop up.
You'll see also there's a box where you can tell Sheetcam what the minimum distance is between cuts, then Sheetcam will TRY and accomodate that.

Re: Start point optimisation
Thanks Dave and Keith. I found it and I have set the tool path for 100mm distance and it seemed to work on the creen. Will try the cut on the weekend. Dammit I need a shed closer to home. This 45 minute drive is a bit shit when there is stuff to be done. Better than the 1hr 45minutes where the table was previously though.
Anyone know of an industrial unit I could use that's close to Hornsby NSW that costs $70 per week???? It's a long shot but hey, why the hell not ask.
