Newbie here on Corel.
I want to take a dxf and add some letters to the drawing. Can someone tell me the proper name for this operation so I can see if I can find the videos and documentation to learn how to do this?
I am new to all this.
Any help would be appreciated!
Gary

Re: Coreldraw X6 Joining two objects
It may even be easier than that if you only want to add text. If you would like to reply and upload your design it will be easier to determine exactly what you want to do. Try slecting the "Text Tool" from your toobar shown in image below then click on the area where you would like your text and you will have a blinking cursor. Type your text then select your "Pick Tool" (first tool at the top of your toolbar) and you can move, stretch, and manipulate the text with it. Let us know how you make out with it.

Thanks Reid, you just saved me some time. I have always typed the text and then selected "Text" " then "Fit Text To Path" but with your method I just click on the path and then type and it follows it.
Geez I love Corel
Thanks

Re: Coreldraw X6 Joining two objects
Thank you for the replies.
I have a mancave file from this site and wanted to change the name.
I will soon attempt to have two files and join them together. Like I say, this is all new so thanks for the reply.
I will let you know how I make out.
thanks everyone.

Re: Coreldraw X6 Joining two objects
No problem Murray. Fit Text to Path is awsome to wrap text around an existing object but is often not needed for simply adding basic text to existing designs. Have a great day guys.muzza wrote:Thanks Reid, you just saved me some time. This is the sign I am trying to change the name on. I can add text but can't seem to find the fonts used. I wanted to put my boss name in there. Morey's. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Gary

I do several different versions of that sign and use "Century751 No2 BT" bold (it's a standard Windows font)
