auto toolpath/lead in setting

Post by Marty »

I am needing to further automate so I am looking to simplify the process of tool path/lead in creation

I am now using Enroute, and I like all aspects of it EXCEPT?.toolpathing/lead ins?..I mostly do metal art???.so it is not un common to have a drawing with 20, 30, 40, or even 50++ closed vectors??..with Enroute I have to set a separate toolpath/lead in pretty much for each and every one?.because there will be a range of closed vector sizes from .25 inch to 3 or 4 inches in size ??..and so for a 2 inch object, a .40 inch length lead in at 10 degree internal approach will not work on a .25 diameter shape that needs a .10 inch lead in with a 80 degree approach?.??.otherwise the torch will cut across the object and obliterate the intended shape

I spoke with Enroute tech support and they say ?we have been talking about it? but no joy on the other end of the phone???..

So I am thinking that there is hopefully software for toolpathing/lead in set up that will AUTOMATICALLY look at the max dimension of each and every closed vector object, regardless of object size, then AUTOMATICALLY create a toolpath/lead in length AND approach angle based on the objects size and orientation on the drawing

Any suggestions?

Thanks guys
