Draw programs

Post by sleepyweezle »

I am new at this and looking for an easy to use or the best design program to use for designing signs or other cut files. Any help would be appreciated.

Like most here I use a combination of programs. For me it's mostly CorelDraw, AutoCAD Inventor and Design Edge. But the more I use Design Edge the less I use Inventor, unless I am doing something in the 3D world where viewing proportions is important.

I use a combination of programs also...........each one does certain things better.......but they all will do (almost) all things...it that makes sense........like anything else....there is good, better and best..........and which are put into good, better,or best category is personal and subjective........I might say software X is good, and the next guy might say software X is best or just better:)....some are more user intuitive, some are free, some are expensive. So a good place to start is with free or at least cheap software, just to learn the ropes. There are two basic groups of software CAD and CAM...google the terms if they are un familiar....within those 2 groups, there are sometimes cross over functions ....There are certain software functions in plasma art design and plasma cutting that are the same across all software programs.....some have invested hundreds or evn thousands in software.Do some searches in Plasma Spider in the Plasma Cutting Software Discussion forum.....you will staret to see names of software that are popular.....I will say this....Corel Draw has ALOT of tutorials available......here and online, you tube etc....for that reason I have stuck with it but not for all functions.....SignTorch is a cut file drawing vendor you will find here...he has some Corel tutorials on his websites......look at Inkscape, I think it is free and will teach what you need to learn, if that makes sense" :)

Do you have a plasma table, and if so, did software come with it?

Corel Draw
Corel Paint
Photoshop
V Carve Pro
Flexi Sign Pro
En Route
Win CNC
Wacom Drawing Tablet
Arto Graph Light Pad
Logitech G13 Pad
Powernate USB Controller
Ignition Metal Art Design

Give a man a fish and you have taught him where to come for a fish; Teach him to use Google and the Search Engine on Plasma Spider and he will be able to learn more than you could ever teach him yourself

Powermax 1250 & Duramax torch (because of the new $$$$ync system, will buy Thermal Dynamics next)
LinuxCNC
Sheetcam
Alibre Design 3D solid modelling
Coreldraw 2019
