I've decided to go with Corel X5 to do design work for my new table. Being a longtime Mac user, I could use advice on which laptop to buy and which version of Windows. I've already obliterated my budget on the table I'm building, so I need to go cheap on a laptop, and am looking at Corel X5 because that is cheaper than X6.
Any advice?

Re: Mac user needs Windows advice.
I use CorelDraw14 on a HP laptop - Windows 7. Quad core. Nothing special. My shop Computer (desktop) that runs my table uses Windows XP, Maxed out Ram and Memory with serial & paralell ports.
I believe XP version no longer has customer support. Windows 7 works fine for just designing and moving to shop computer with a zip drive.

Thanks, JJ. Kinda what I figured. Hey, I used to live not far from you. Left Lincoln in 1964. Living in Oregon now.

If I was looking to run on a portable computer I'd be looking at a tablet pc with a pen to draw with,
windows XP is ok but beyond it's life cycle, so windows 7 is best at the moment
