Holy Crap!

Post by tacoma747 »

Wow, I didn't know what I was missing! I had an Everlast PP60c that bit the dust after 9 months of use, so I decided I would do what I should have done in the first place and get a Hypertherm PM65. $2,690 shipped with machine torch from Harris welding WITH a consumable kit (about $175 is cheapest I have found them).

Cutting 3/8" steel the Everlast cut at 10ipm, changing consumables ALOT, and not getting very good cut quality.

The Hypertherm right off the bat I cut at 45ipm, cut a whole 4x4 sheet of stuff on the same tips with good quality from start to finish. I need to fine tune it a bit more but overall I am 100% impressed!!

If you are using your CNC on a very rare basis, and not cutting over 1/4", I can't say I wouldn't reccomend the PP60c, but it is still very slow (not a big deal until you get into cutting a full sheet at one time), and the consumables wear out FAST. If you have any intentions of using the CNC for business purposes (like most do), then go Hypertherm 100%. It is WELL worth the extra $1,690!!

Now if I can just sell the POS Burntables table and upgrade to a 4x8 I'll be real happy!

Thanks Jim!
