intermittent firing problem
I have a plasmacam dh2, with hyperthrem 1250, using hyperthrem machine torch, the problem I have is at random times the torch will start to fire then will stop, get a message in plasma cam program lost cutting signal, check wiring. I then click cut again and all will be fine, sometimes it will be fine for days, then out of the blue it will do it 4 or 5 times, any ideas

Re: intermittent firing problem
If the plasma consumables....the electrode and nozzle....have a fair amount of starts or arc time on them, they will start to misfire. There is a section in your operators manual that describes how to inspect these parts to determine if they are fully consumed. If it looks like they still hav some life..and cut quality is still good...clean them carefully with a piece of scotchbrite abrasive pad....and often you can get a few hundred more starts out of them.
Other things that can cause premature misfiring:
-Plasma air pressure is too high. Make sure the air pressure to the torch is set acording to the suggestions in your manual.
-Particulates or moisture in your compressed air.
-Low input line voltage for the plasma system.
-Worn or damaged torch or torch leads.

Re: intermittent firing problem
If the torch is randomly firing, then you either have a random short in the two wires going to the CPC port that turn the torch on or the software is randomly turning the torch on. Bad consumables will cause a misfire or failure to establish arc transfer, but will not cause the torch to randomly fire.
