Chinese plasma tips

Anyone out there had experience buying tips or consumables from china?they are cheap but are they a ny good?

I know our tech service group troubleshoots a lot of issues that get traced back to aftermarket consumables.....from short life, to bad cut edge angularity, to damaged torch bodies. Hypertherm currently has a patent infringement case against at least one Chinese consumables supplier.

Generally...buying consumables that are not genuine for a modern plasma torch is a crapshoot at best. In most cases you save a lttle at the time of purchase....but over time you lose a lot through additional grinding, changing the parts more often, as well as potential system downtime.

Not worth the head aches that come with the cheap prices. Seeing what great cut quality I get from the Hypertherm consumables I have no reason to try and save a couple of dollars....

I have never gotten anything of quality from China..

not worth the hassle IMO..

Hypertherm parts is my choice..

I recently unknowingly bought some knock off consumables on ebay. After using a few I noticed short consumable life and lots of fault errors. After some research I found out they came from China. They were about 1/2 price but not worth a crap.

If you are using the chinese can you use the hypertherm model or any other good model that has nothing to do with chinese..... because the ones i have is really frustrating me

You will want to use genuine Hypertherm consumables for your Hypertherm machine.

I bought a pack of Amazon consumables for my TD just to try them out. Electrodes and a few different sized tips. I was very happy with them. Can't tell any difference! I'm still working my way through them.

Maybe I'm looking at it wrong but I don't understand why anyone would want to mess with Chinese consumables and the aggravation and downtime that comes with them when, with proper use, American made consumables will provide much better results, less downtime.

I bought mine because they were cheap and I wanted to try them. I have no regrets, might even buy them again since they seem to last as long as the original ones.

It probably depends on what brand of machine you have. For the Hypertherm, Thermaldynamics, Miller, Lincoln, and other US made machines it is a good idea to stick with the OEM parts. For other Offbrand/China import machines, these chinese consumables are probably fine and most likely the same as the OEM parts those import machines came with.

The ones I have work fine on my TD Cutmaster 82.
Maybe I just got lucky...
