New to plasma cutting.. Artcam question
We recently got a cnc plasma cutter in hopes of finding things to make to make some money. I have finally learned how to use art cam which is what came with our machine and I am cutting things. But i keep hearing about plasma cam and I am confused as to what this is? Is it just another program to draw with? I have also heard people talking about being able to scan pictures in and converting them into dxf files. I havent gotten this far yet but there are some things that I would love to take pictures of and be able to cut. But how do you do this on art cam? or is it possible? like i said i am doing good considering 4 wks ago i had no clue what i was doing. for me to even be cutting things now is HUGE!

PlasmaCam is a CNC Plasma Table Manufactorer. They have there own programs specific to their machines.
And congrats on buying a table.

O ok! Thanks! I was confused! well I hope I can find some way to copy files to art cam. coral draw sounds like it is much easier to use. But maybe artcam will work well!

you might find a you tube video that shows you that will make it easy. You can import a photo and it becomes like a back ground, then you can use the bitmap to vector tool and have the program draw it for you. on most stuff I prefer to just draw it myself by tracing the photo after importing it so I can leave out and straighten things as I go. It sounds easier than it is the first time. Good luck
