Down loaded free DXF horse in Leaf 2226 objects?

I down loaded the free Horse in Leaf file into Corel Draw X5 and ended up with over 2000 objects. I can not figure out how to reduce the number of objects to something i can use. Can anyone explain what i'm doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the tip I tried several times following the directions closely but nothinkg happens. I guess this one just wasn't meant for me.

be sure to select all then combine all

then select all nodes with the node tool

then run join curves

I use the extend option, and default gap of .1, always seems to work

mainly, if you don't select any nodes with the node tool, nothing happens....

oddly, if you don't combine everything first, it works less perfectly sometimes

That worked great, I was not hitting the apply on join curves. Thanks for the help i appreciate it.
