How do i upgrade to new Computer for plasmacam

My plasmacam works ok, but i want to upgrade to new computer. I called them, and they say i only can use old style PC with serial port. NO NEW PCS HAVE THIS. Problem is even if you find adapter, they say Plasma cam will not work. Not sure wht to do.
Any suggestions would be welcomed.

If you get a new computer that has an empty PCI port, you can add a parallel card.
Should work fine.

Dell still sells computers with the parralel port just order it with one

Why do you want a NEW computer? Or did you mean operating system?? You can still buy old computers with serial ports, cause I have two...one I use, and one for a backup. I tried the PCI slot at one time, and for me, it didn't work like a serial port would. Bob

New pc's will work just fine. You will need to buy a true serial port card if the new pc does not have one. An adapter will not work. Just make sure the serial port card you order meets the specifications required by the PlasmaCam software. Any good computer store should be able to fix you up or you can order the cards online.
