Question for Jim Colt...ArcWriter

Post by titaneman »

Hi Jim,

I look to buy a plasma table torchmate 6x10 so this is the specs:

6'x10' Torchmate 3 Finished Machine with Machine Interface for Plasma and 4th
Drive
(5'x10' Flat Plate Cutting Area, 1'x10' Tube Cutting Area)

Includes the following:
- 5:1 Gear Boxes
- Stability Arm
- Torchmate CAD Module with the following features and abilities: Import shapes or draw them in Torchmate CAD
Scan & convert drawn shapes for cutting
Scale shapes to any desired size
Duplicate shapes in any number & pattern Automatic nesting, including rotation & flipping Automatic insertion of lead-ins and lead-outs Automatic kerf compensation
Automatic control of torch travel direction
Control of cut order (sequence)
Export finished shape patterns as dxf files
- Torchmate Machine Interface for Plasma
- Motor Cables
- Slat Support Brackets
- Upgraded Gear Rack
- 4th Drive
- Precision Ground Rails
Arc Volt Height Control Unit with 50' cable set
Includes:
50' Cable
Control Box
Lifter Station with motor
Input Cable
Tube Cutting Attachment with Chuck for TM1, TM2, and TM3 **STEPPER** Torchmate Universal Interface for Oxy Fuel, Plate Marker, or Router
Plate Marker (short version) 110V with 50' cables for TM2, 2x2, and 2x4
Laser Crosshairs with 50' cable extension (*Determine what interface cable needed*) Physical Z-Axis Routing for Torchmate 3
(Includes Bobcad-CAM 3-D Software Package)
DeWalt 2.25 HP Router with Two Piece Split Shaft Collar
Torchmate Probe Sensor (Includes Rhinoceros 4.0 & RhinoCAM 1.0 Basic)
Remote Pendant (used w/ USB port only. Must have current Driver software version 3)
Quadruple Interface Cable
Cable Carrier System for 6'x10' Torchmate Machine

So this is my question:

1-Can I put an Hypertherm ArcWriter on that system.
2-Do I need the option for it (Arc voltage control bord, current control panel, mounting and stand-off accessories).
3-How much feets you write in normal writhing with standard bottle gas (neer 5') with 5% hydrogen, 95% argon premixed.
4-The interface cable is simple to connect to the table?

Thanks for your times and have a nice days
.

Eric,

The Arc Writer is simply a low powered plasma system used for etching or marking the plate. It cannot cut, just for marking. It does require a full height control system just like a plasma cutter would. Depending on the speed you are marking at (faster makes for lighter marks) you could probably mark as much as about 32,000 inches of marking on a 244 cubic foot cyclinder of gas.

You should check with Torchmate to determine if they could adapt the arc writer to their machine.
