Miller Spectrum 2050 torch upgrade
If anyone has a 2050 and would like to upgrade to a machine torch for under $500, you can buy a Hypertherm RT60 from Scott Gross online for $490. All it takes to use this torch on the Miller is taking the connection end apart and rearranging the pins to match the Miller. This works great.

Another option is Thermal Dynamics one torch. We installed one on our Miller 2050 and flat love it. Direct connection

Miller Spectrum 2050 torch upgrade
Hey guys so I am currently trying to upgrade to a machine torch on my 2050 I got the torch bought but what do I need to change over or add to get it to fire? because the plug and play method did not work unfortunately. is there a trigger part I will need to order to use the machine torch?

Reading the original post from Mountain Home it sounds like you have to re-arrange the pins to make it work. Try downloading the manuals for each plasma cutter and hopefully there will be a diagram showing the pin out of the torch plug of each machine.

Miller
I found it interesting that the wire colors are the same between the two brands.
Hypertherm
It looks like you need to move pin 7 in the torch to pin 3. That appears to be the only difference in the connections.I found it interesting that the wire colors are the same between the two brands.
