Laser cut puzzle

Post by hardworker »

I have a lower end two trees 10w diode laser engraver and a head full of ideas! Just wanted to share a project I came up with because it was a huge hit with all the kids in my son’s 2nd grade class. I sent him to school with all the individual peices in a sandwich bag and a snack, each student got the piece with their name on it an a treat. Then they all got to be involved inserting the piece to complete the puzzle. The teacher said they absolutely loved it, and it showed how important each student was to the group. Turned out good for being colored with markers😂 There are endless possibilities. I informed the teacher she could tape or glue the back an hang it up or do want ever she wanted with it. It was a success! I’m working on a Valentine’s Day one that he can share with the class as well.

How long will it be, before Playboy Magazine includes their centerfold as a plastic bag full of puzzle pieces??

Joe
Depends how long it takes you to present them with the idea. Put all those lasers you have to work. 😂

This is what I came up with for Valentine’s Day for all 27 of my sons classmates. Simple little puzzle and individualized with their names. They loved them as well.

Here is a video about a masking material for etching wood with a laser to eliminate the scorching of the wood. I coat the wood with sanding sealer or shellac paint to seal it before applying the paper mask. He has a link to Amazon for the paper mask below his info.

Here are 2 things from Amazon I use the plastic razor she shows at the end is great for removing small mask parts. Amazon has other plastic razors for cheaper price.

Hardworker - those look great! Tom - thanks for those videos and tips on the materials for masking to prevent the word burning when engraving with the laser.
