New Guy
Hello everyone. Kind of interesting how I got here. I was trying to find a USMS plasma badge to purchase for a graduation gift. With no joy. I thought maybe I could try to make one myself. I started to research cnc plasma tables and plasma machines. I spent some time on this sight and pulled the trigger. Big learning curve, but I made some cool stuff. Still haven't made the badge yet. I have downloaded some files off plasma spider and I appreciate all the work everyone has put in. I hope someday, I will be able to share. Still learning.

Re: New Guy
Welcome aboard! Interesting story. Which version were you interested in making? I have seen round ones as well as actual badge shapes.
What kind of plasma table and cutter did you get?

Thank You,
I looked all over for US Marshal Service Badge. I ended up buying a Langmuir XR with a Hypertherm 65.
I see in my post I don't know how to spell site. Haha

Re: New Guy
There are some of these on Esty in vector format. Prices are reasonable, but I expect you will need to do a little editing to make them "plasma cut ready".TheFuzz wrote: Tue Feb 04, 2025 7:35 pmadbuch wrote: Tue Feb 04, 2025 5:52 pmOK - thanks for that clarification. Re: New Guy
I have created a file for the main badge - svg attached below. You would need to buy one of the Etsy files to get the center portion in vector format. Then figure out a creative way to engrave it and attach to the main badge. Lots of possibilities here. The EasyScriber might come in very handy for this.

Thank you very much! I appreciate you time. I'm not familiar with Easy Scriber. I will have to do some research. Another tool to play with. My wife is going have me hanging from the tallest tree in the County. Haha
The letters in the Badge are Blue. What do you think about putting another round circle behind?

Re: New Guy
Yes - you could cut a backer ring and paint it blue. Here is the file with the letters stenciled. I don't know if you ever said what drawing program you are using. I did this with Inkscape and saved as svg. You might have a different style stencil effect you want to use on the letters. I just drew simple rectangles, placed them over each letter, and then select rectangle and main part and "Path, Union" to cut away the unwanted area and create the "bridge" for the stencil.TheFuzz wrote: Wed Feb 05, 2025 9:51 am

The EasyScriber costs around $100 and is designed to fit into your torch in place of the consumable stack. I have one for my Hypertherm cutters, and they make several different versions to fit some of the different brands of cutters. Here is the link to the EasyScriber.
