I bought an oven!

Post by Joe Jones »

After a long delay, and the "natural" destruction of the powder coat oven I was building, I have now been contacted by a former customer about his oven. He has upgraded to a new system, and just wants to sell the old oven. it is 8'x8'x6' or so, I believe. I agreed to buy it and will drive up to get it later in February.

I will finally be able to powder coat metal!

he says 220 single phase but I don't know. it is two 4x8 sheets of steel vertically on all four sides. He has used it for a long time, but now they have an automatic system, carts roll in and out automatically, etc. He said it takes about 45 minutes to get up to temp, but you can boost it with a propane heater.

I will. I know it is tall enough to stand in, but I do not know the true interior dimensions. it is wrapped by eight 4x8 sheets of metal, vertically oriented, but the walls are 4" or 6" thick, so ...
