SYNC to Duramax Adaptor
Hello all, if you are looking for a way to run duramax consumables on a SYNC system, check out https://weld-ready.ca/products/intellic ... nc-adapter They offer a whole line of aftermarket hypertherm consumables, as well as adaptors to go from sync to duramax. They have the adaptor on their website but it shows no stock, however if you call them they do have them, they are just very careful and quiet about it as hypertherm is quite upset with them.

Re: SYNC to Duramax Adaptor
I dont need one as I have the powermax non sync models. Just letting anyone with a sync know that there is now an alternative.

Re: SYNC to Duramax Adaptor
That's pretty slick. I had an idea to make an adapter for the power supply torch socket to go to a DuraMax torch. This looks much easier, except it looks like it adds quite a bit of length to the stack.cutnweld wrote: Thu Jan 23, 2025 9:19 am Hello all, if you are looking for a way to run duramax consumables on a SYNC system, check out https://weld-ready.ca/?shpxid=d726df89- ... dd18a751d6 They offer a whole line of aftermarket hypertherm consumables, as well as adaptors to go from sync to duramax. I'm sure they'll sell good.

Re: SYNC to Duramax Adaptor
Not sure why hypertherm would be mad, being able to run the old stuff would be the only way I would consider buying a new hypertherm.
No way I will ever pay 80 canadian pesos per tip.

I'm with you on that one. Hypertherm isn't even on my radar for a replacement when the time comes to replace my old school Powermax 65. I'm sure the SYNC stuff works great now but I can operate for much less on the old style consumables do what I do. Even this adapter wouldn't bring me back to Hypertherm, especially since they are so against it.2strokeforever wrote: Sat Mar 08, 2025 2:54 am Not sure why hypertherm would be mad, being able to run the old stuff would be the only way I would consider buying a new hypertherm.

Those things have a RFID in the consumables, next thing you know they are going to need internet to work and will "update" and not work anymore, or loose power when a new model is out like an iphone.
They went from me not even considering another brand to not even an option, hopefully another company steps up and fills the gap

Re: SYNC to Duramax Adaptor
Based on reports from other Sync users, I would not hesitate to purchase a brand new Hypertherm Sync plasma cutter (should the need arise). My Powermax 85 and 45xp are still running strong - but the convenience of Sync consumables, particularly the FineCuts, is a real plus in my book.
