I'm a not so proud owner of a new plasma cam Genesis table, I have owned a couple of their older models and I am trying to figure out if there are other programs that will run the table? Design Edge software is clunky so far and in order to run the table and keep settings for cutting different materials and thicknesses they now want me to spend another grand on a software level so the table can actually be usefull.
There is so much about this company that makes me really have a hard time handing them any more money that I am looking for alternatives.

I assume that your previous models were pre-DHC2 and used the 3.11 or earlier software which included everything in one program. I think that some of the DHC2 tables may have been shipped with the 3.11 before Design Edge was introduced. I bought my DHC2 tables back in 2017 and at that point they all shipped with basic Design Edge software. There was (and is) an additional charge the Height Control, Advanced Height Control, Advanced Design, Advanced Machine Control, Automatic Nesting, 3D Capability, Pipe Cutting, Metric Units, and Customizable Size ($995 each).
I had researched all of this before I ordered my first DHC2 table and knew I would need to spend the additional $4k to be able to get the most out of my table and software. I did order it with those upgrades and shortly thereafter purchased the others (except for the metric units).
There are no alternatives (other than spending thousands of dollars to scrap the entire control system and install an alternative inferior system) so I would recommend just "biting the bullet" and get the upgrade or upgrades you need to make your table useful to you.

Hi Brady,
First Where are you located?
Second, yes ... the various upgrades to designEdge are sold individually at THE AMAZING LOW PRICE of only $998.00
Your Genesis table should have "The Big Three" upgrades, Advanced Design, Advanced Machine Control and Advanced Height Control. With those three upgrades, you have MOST of what makes a PlasmaCam table good. You can also add Automatic Nesting, Customizable Size, and Full 3D (for routing operations) to make the table even better.
If you are close to me, I'd like to swing by to check out the Genesis table, and see if I can assist you in any way.
