LDR bearings escaped

I just read the devastating news about Dan and LDR. Very sad! I have a 4x4 table I bought from LDR 11 years ago next month. It has been a GREAT system. This week I was surprised by ball bearings falling on my table from the torch mechanism. I have never dug into the machine before, but I guess it is time. Anyone been here before that can share some knowledge/advice.

The liner bearing are easy to find on different sites, you just need to measure the diameter of the shafts to order new ones. I use similar ones on the table I built.

Her is an example from amazon, You cut the length from longer ones with a cut off saw (angle grinder 4.5" type). I'm sure if you look around you can find shorter kits for less money.

Tom offers some good advise here. I purchased similar linear rail bearings from Amazon a few year ago for my diy router/engraver table build.
