Lincoln Torchmate 4800 IHS Problems
I have a Lincoln Torchmate 4800, and I'm getting an IHS error, "IHS Error: end of travel reached before detecting material." I've checked all of the connection points and everything it suggested in the IHS troubleshooting PDF. I can see it touching the material and then giving me the error. Has anyone encountered this error before or have any ideas on other things I can check?

Does your system use an ohmic clip with a wire back to the controller to detect the material?JWWelder wrote: Tue Dec 10, 2024 10:09 am I have a Lincoln Torchmate 4800, and I'm getting an IHS error, "IHS Error: end of travel reached before detecting material." Yes it does, we've used a digital multimeter to check if that has connectivity and replaced the spade on it.

If you put the torch in contact with the material do you have continuity between the sheet of material on your table and tab that the spade connector and wire plug onto?
