HF Air Dryer Settings

Post by DesertView »

Hello, I am hoping someone can help me here. I purchased a new HF air dryer and being the bonehead that I am, I opened up the panel and thought that the screws on the box opened up the panel for the wiring. Nope, I was actually messing up all the factory settings for what I am thinking is a pressure switch. There are three adjustments screw as shown in the pic. Can someone tell me what the settings should be or take a pic of the settings. I would appreciate it greatly. I tried calling HF customer support and they could not help.

If you don't have a manual that provides this information, then perhaps make a trip to your local Harbor Freight store and take a look at a new one to see what the default settings are.

Thank you for the reply, Unfortunately, the manual doesn't say what those settings should be.

They dont have them in stock. Even if they did, I would have to open the side panel to see. Thanks for the advice and I would do it if I could. That is why I was hoping someone already had one that they could take a picture of.

Perhaps post a photo or photos showing your complete dryer so we can know exactly what model you have. There are discussions about the Harbor Freight refrigerated dryers on the internet. Doing a search turns up these and similar.

If it were me, I would just run it and see what it does. You can always fiddle around with those adjustment (trial and error) to see if it makes any difference to the performance of your unit.

That's a bummer. I would do as David suggests and get them back close to where you think they were (looks like red paint marks indicate 2 of them) and run it and see how it functions and tune it from there.

To close out the thread, here is what I did. I tried some different settings to try it out and it would just shut off with an error light. I talked to an HVAC mechanic and he told me where to set it and it still would just shut off. I ended up returning it to HF and got another one. Thank you for the help, hopefully this time it works.

Perhaps make a note or take some photos of the settings on the new replacement dryer - just in case you run into this problem again. If you do, you could post them here to maybe help anyone having this problem in the future.
