Please Help
I am having a hard time getting the font to follow this path evenly. I use inkscape and I'm not sure if it updated or what the deal is. I also tried using the path effects tool for the first time. In doing so I cannot seem to edit the font or use "path/difference" to set in place. If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm lost and about to start over at this point.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Re: Please Help
Could you please be more specific. What are you trying to accomplish here? I assume you want the lower letters evenly spaced vertically between the inner and outer curves.

What is the name of the font you are using?

Re: Please Help
I think my program updated. The previous way to do that with circles wasn't working for me. That is why I tried path effects this time. The nodes on screen do not event line up with the image either. The font is called "Akball" and yes the alignment and bridging. Just when I think I have it down something dumb happens HAHA!

Re: Please Help
The alignment is pretty easy to do manually. At this point you can ungroup and move/rotate the individual letters. What "bridging" are you talking about?

Re: Please Help
Maybe something is up on my end then. I cannot get this to cooperate here. I need to clean up the whole thing, the B needs adjustment along with the rest of the spacing in the text.

Re: Please Help
I'm frustrated and probably time to call it a night. I was trying to get a few projects drawn up this evening so I can get several things done tomorrow. As always, I appreciate you donating your time.

Re: Please Help
So you want to adjust the stenciling of the letters?

Re: Please Help
You can node edit without ungrouping. If you want to move/rotate individual letters, then ungroup several times so that you can select individual letters.

Re: Please Help
I would draw a small circle about 0.150" diameter, and move it around and node edit letters to create the desired stencil gaps.
After that, you can ungroup several times and move/rotate individual letters to better center then between the inner and outer circles.
If you are doing this from scratch, either the "Text, Put on Path" tool or the "Path, Path Effects, Bend" tool could be used to fit your text to a curved path to match your drawing. By the way, your circles are not actually round - so keep this in mind if you are using the "Text, Put on Path" tool.
I have included the edited file with larger stencil gaps. I have not moved/rotated the individual letters for a better fit to the inner and outer "circles".

Re: Please Help
I had resized this which may be why my circles are no longer round. I had put text to path inside the "ring" before joining the image. After union with the image, I noticed my text moved and when I tried to adjust lettering it was all whacked out. I've opened it again here a little bit ago and things appear to be working as usual. Sometimes I cannot get things to "difference" and I don't know why. I add/stroke/remove path effects, ungroup, break apart/combine etc. David, I thank you again for your time!

Re: Please Help
Happy to help as always. Let us know if you need any more help with it, and I would be interested to see you final version when you get it completed. Where did you find the original image for the donkey that you started with? Would like to see that as well.big496 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 11:57 am I had resized this which may be why my circles are no longer round. Re: Please Help
I asked for the file of their logo and this is the jpg i recieved. I wasn't sure how well I could do with it but it honestly wasn't horrible. Other than my issues last night of course. I think it turned out ok. They approved it so should be cutting this week.

Re: Please Help
Nice job!! They gave you a fairly low resolution image to work with, but it auto traces pretty well with Inkscape using the right settings.

Re: Please Help
Sorry for the delay, never thought I would be this busy this time of year. Hopefully it posts alright. I haven't uploaded to the computer yet. Turned out alright I think. There is a couple lines I could have cleaned up better and I got a little heavy with the powder.
