Several of us use this for our laser engravers..
Its a nice program but not perfect for me for everything just like all programs..

Lightburn is a handy program with nice options for a very fair price. I am waiting for them to expand the Post processor list for other table controllers. Not really geared for the DIY group using other then GRBL type controllers. But that's life.

I don't have a laser, but do find LightBurn to be useful for cad work - usually in conjunction with other programs.

If you started with a GCode or Galvo device and now want to use a DSP controller, the DSP upgrade adds DSP devices to your license key. Once purchased, your version of LightBurn will support DSP controllers in addition to the devices already supported.

It seems like adding the DSP option will not help with my whining about expanding Lightburn for a DIY CNC setup (postprocessor). The is more for using a pendant optional controller to a laser setup. From the web

Tom - I understand that the cam portion of LightBurn is intended for laser cutters, not plasma tables. The reason I suggested to Justin (Admin) that he might add a heading for LightBurn software is because there are many who use it for its cad capabilities, then export as dxf or svg for further processing via Sheetcam or Fusion 360.

LightBurn has many of the same capabilities as Inkscape, with a simpler user interface and most likely a less steep learning curve. And I think it has some nice features which make it easier and quicker to accomplish some drawing tasks than trying to do the equivalent task using Inkscape. When I get a chance I will try to show some of these features in a new thread.

I agree and there are many YouTube videos coming from the Laser angle showing how to use Lightburn for many of the same type of drawing features.
There is a guy in mind that have great videos, "The Louisiana hobby guy"
