Single Line Fonts For Plasma Cutting

Post by acourtjester »

For those looking for single line fonts, one source I found is CamBam stick fonts. Good for some types of CNC work< routing, plasma, Pen writing and laser.

Tom - thanks for the tip! I think you may have mentioned these before since I already have them installed into Inkscape. But I'm sure these will come in very handy for other Inkscape users.

Thanks for this Tom. I downloaded them and actually used the second one in a spanner wrench I am making (my initials). Not sure if this matters but when you blow it up very large the lines are actually double lines. Wondering if this will make a difference in Plasma cutting as well as scribing. I have my stroke width set to like .003 and it still does not matter. Double lines are still there. Hope you understand what I am referring to. Not at my laptop right now so I cannot do a screen shot.

I understand so it is actually a loop and not a line, I had used one for routing and it worked fine with EstlCam for a plaque. I planned it using their engrave tool and you just set the depth using a "V" bit so it still appears as a line. :HaHa :HaHa

Thanks Tom. This is great. I hope to cut out my spanner wrenches out soon. Just have to get some other sign work done first.

Ok. So I used this font to cut out spanner wrenches. The machine cuts out the letters and runs the cut twice. Especially a T and A. I even created bridges in the A. It is very strange. What happens is the voltage spikes very high when coming back over a cut and the DTHC sees this and lowers the torch and drags on the material. I messed one of the parts up. So then I went back into Sheetcam and turned of the DTHC for the "letter layer" operation. Then it cut out great.

I even bridged the A. Appearantly not enough.
