Fine cut carts
Hi! I just bought xp45 and notice in the manual that45 amp 10 ga. fine cut settings are identical to fine cut slow speed settings. Why have slow speed settings listed?

I'm guessing they have determined that any slower than 95ipm does not produce the best result, maybe too much slag.

Seems strange they would have10 ga.finecut repeated in 10ga.finecut slow speed. I've been wondering if there's a misprint?

Hello OTHill, Weldguy is right, using finecut on 10ga you really start to lose the benefits of the finecut. Cutting any slower will not give you the desired result.OTHill wrote: Mon Feb 21, 2022 4:34 pm Seems strange they would have10 ga.finecut repeated in 10ga.finecut slow speed. Re: Fine cut carts
The purpose of the Low Speed Fine Cut charts is to allow for tables that cannot perform at the optimal cut speeds. The cut off is 150 ipm so the charts have adjustments to try to achieve better results at or below 150 ipm. Since the cut speed for FineCuts on 10 gauge mild steel are already below 150 ipm it requires no adjustment and so is listed, duplicated from the regular chart for your benefit of not having to turn the page to see the full range of FineCut settings.
