45XP cannot adjust air pressure above 77psi
I have a hypertherm 45xp. Wont let me adjust the air pressure past 77psi . Im not sure if I’m losing pressure from the compressor to the machine. Does anyone know why the machine won’t allow me to go above 77psi ?

What it the air pressure in the compressor tank?Cook wrote: Thu Apr 01, 2021 2:50 pm I have a hypertherm 45xp. Wont let me adjust the air pressure past 77psi . Im not sure if I’m losing pressure from the compressor to the machine. Does anyone know why the machine won’t allow me to go above 77psi ?
Do you have a gauge at the air inlet if your 45xp so you can compare pressure before it goes into the plasma?

The question is why would you need more then 77 psi you only have a 45 amp plasma cutter. You should only need 70 psi max for 1/2" metal.

Re: Machine will pierce but not cut
Per the Hypertherm manual the 45xp requires a minimum of 188 l/min (400 scfh) @ 5,9 bar (90 psi) at the air/gas inlet to the machine. I run 100 psi at the inlet to both my 45xp and 85 as measured with an inline gauge mounted directly at the inlet and with the air/gas flowing.

Where are you measuring your air pressure?Cook wrote: Thu Apr 01, 2021 2:50 pm I have a hypertherm 45xp. Wont let me adjust the air pressure past 77psi . Im not sure if I’m losing pressure from the compressor to the machine. Does anyone know why the machine won’t allow me to go above 77psi ?
