Hi
Just a quick question!
Can you cut perforated materials or meshes with the new 45 xp?
I know the older 45 had a selector switch on the front panel for doing this
Anybody cut mesh or perforated materials with the new 45 xpand any chance you could post your settings?
Thanks

That info should be in the manual, look at the description of the front panel.

Re: 45xp for cutting perforated materials?
Hi Tom
Good shout apart from all the 45XP manual says about cutting expanded metal is:
Cutting expanded metal
To cut expanded metal, use the consumables for shielded cutting that come with the system. The
system does not require a dedicated mode for cutting expanded metal.
Expanded metal has a slotted or mesh pattern. Cutting expanded metal
wears out consumables more quickly because it requires a continuous
pilot arc. A pilot arc occurs when the torch is fired but the plasma arc is
not in contact with the work piece.
I cannot find any other reference to cutting expanded materials ideally would've of liked someone to come back with some cut setting for thickness of materials etc.
But thanks for the response

Re: 45xp for cutting perforated materials?
Hi David
Thank you I did see that video and also another video he made on the same job showing the complete cut of the mesh
What I am really looking for are settings to dial in and maybe the technique for touch off
Guess I will have to wing it
But thanks again for your reply

Re: 45xp for cutting perforated materials?
I would suspect you would use the same settings that you would if the material was not perforated and just keep the THC off.
