Slide covers - Rail covers

Post by Welder Kenny »

Hello People, I'm looking for idea's on the best way to cover the rails that my bearing ride on, Its a home made table with flat bar for the rails that the stepper motors ride on, I saw somethings on amazon but just looking for different. I just ran a 2500 piece job and the table is a little dirty.

Kenny,
My Avid cnc tables use a strip of black teflon type material to cover the linear rails. These strips are about 1/8" thick x 2" wide and run the length of the tables on both sides. Perhaps you could do something similar. Avid uses these for both the cnc router tables and cnc plasma tables.

I did see one guy that attached an apron to each slider that extended a distance to each side. This may help if you are using a water table.
