45 xp machine torch option

Hi I'm looking at buying a plasma table I already own a hypertherm 45xp but need to buy a machine torch so my question is would it be possible to buy a machine torch that would fit my 45xp but also fit a powermax 65 if I were to decide to upgrade to a larger plasma cutter some day.

I am pretty sure the 45XP machine torch is the same one that fits the 65, 85, and 105 but double check with your weld supplier or give Hypertherm a quick call to confirm 100%

With the Hypertherm Duramax hand torches, the torch from my Powermax 85 will work with my 45xp. But the hand torch from my 45xp will not plug into the Powermax 85 due to the arrangement of pins in the connector. I assume that since the 45xp hand torch is only rated at 45 amps, they don't want you to plug it into the 65 or 85 and exceed the maximum current rating of 45 amps. I believe that you should be able to purchase a Duramax machine torch for your 65 which will also work with your 45xp. It would be best to contact your local Hypertherm dealer for more details.

I ended up getting a hold if jim colt and he told me he uses the same torch in his 45xp, 65, and 85.

Yes - the Duramax torch for the 85 will work with the 65 and 45xp as well.
