Ready for CAD refresh

Folks, I've been using Solid Edge 2D for a while and it's served me well. However, I've found a few bugs with it, and I'm thinking about trying something new. Since SE2D is free, and I mostly use InkScape, I need something fairly inexpensive for the random CAD stuff I do. Anyone have any strong feelings about other software?

PS the SE2D bugs are around making poly lines from customer files. I have to go around and manually join end points in some files, and the snap-to the nearest endpoint is not working consistently.
