How to Eliminate C Clamps from your life!

Post by BuickBuilder88 »

We got in touch with RTB Solution Inc. out of Colorado and they built us a small custom magnetic table for grinding small parts. I got it the other day and wrote a review for it in video form. Absolutely love this thing and can't live without it now!http://rtbsolutionsinc.com/review.html is the link to my review. http://rtbsolutionsinc.com/store.html is the link to the store.

Anything I need to grind or flapwheel now just gets dropped on this small little table and you can go to town on it. For the amount of time I have saved in dealing with C Clamps and other ways of holding metal down, this one has paid for itself time and time again in wages alone. We have 3 now and the employees still want more. Check it out and pm me if you want to know more.

A magnetic chuck from a surface grinder should work also

Nice but pretty spendy. You can pick up new 6x18 magnetic chucks for under $200. My question is how easy are they to clean? WIth a Magnetic Chuck the field can be turned off and cleaned but the Magnetic Table is always energized which makes it harder to clean.

Mine has been easy to clean, I just run a wire wheel over it and it cleans it up to look brand new. As far as the magnetic chuck goes, I’ve had a hard time finding one with as much pull down force for less money. I don’t know how you mount those to your table to keep them from moving but this little table locks itself down pretty good imo.

I saw this on YouTube and figured I would add it to this conversation. I was looking for the recent post that someone had the idea to use a harbor freight magnetic sweeper, but maybe because its almost 3 in the morning I haven't found it. Anyways, that post had got me thinking and since I have a large microwave I am getting ready to scrap I wanted to know if anyone had made an electromagnetic chuck and I found this kid made a pretty good how-to video.

Good luck! If you make one I would love to hear how it measures up.

I have 3 microwaves I'm planning on tossing. I guess I better dig them out of the trash pile...
