Grinding Station
I've been thinking about this thing for a while now. Yesterday I brought it from CAD to life. Formed it up out of 11Gauge. Need to build a better dust tray for it as I can't form the exact piece I need on my press brake with the tooling I have. My solution to that is I will build a 16ga tray on my mag brake. Other than that, went pretty well.

Looks good! Are you going to put a fan on it to help control the dust? What about sides or curtains? I have a similar setup originally buit as a downdraft for manual plasma cutting, but it needs something to control the spark spray. I also put an old vise on it to help hold smaller parts.

Re: Grinding Station
This looks great! Does it have a tray for the bottom to collect the dust?

Re: Grinding Station
How is this working? Really need to build a grinding station. Tired of the dust all over the shop. Needs to happen in the next couple of weeks.

Re: Grinding Station
Here is a commercial solution if you want an idea regarding vent rates and also the flaps / wings on the side are on hinges so that you can put long material into the grinding or welding zone.

Re: Grinding Station
It actually works pretty good. I don't really see a need for a fan on it but I'm also not sanding super dusty things like wood.. Just basically clean up from off the table.
