Hi, i got this set of Z-axis from Aliexpress https://www.aliexpress.com/item/CNC-Pla ... 92397.html
It uses 24V DC motor (no driver), but i have never connecting this kind of motor to controller. I use ESS smoothstepper, so if you can help me and provide me some wiring diagrams for it, and help me with how to set it up in Mach 3.

Re: Help with wiring DC motor to a ESS controller
That won't work with ESS. ESS puts out Step & Dir signals (logic level) to a stepper or servo driver. Servo drivers will move a DC motor but need encoder feedback. The Z is designed to work with either a specific THC that will control a DC motor and is probably not connected to the control software. A THC with up and Down outputs and a couple of relays to move the motor Up or down would make a very basic unit. You might check out the Neuron THC's and see if one supports using a simple DC motor as a torch lifter.
