CNC Pen for testing

Here is a Pen attachment I made for my daughter's router table and a video showing one I have for my table.

I use Mach 3 (standard) post processor
Set up with the pen just touching the paper and "0" out the Z axis then run G code

great idea, would sure save metal at least you can find out if the table is running true
I know mine is out can cut two of something and its sure to screw up on the 2nd one
even on stuff I have cut numerous times, getting I am getting scared to do large items
how do you control the contact to the paper or is that taken up with the spring

The spring is used to control the contact with the paper and if the writing surface is uneven.
One thing I did not say is that you need to create a Pen tool and this requires using "plate Marker" as the tool type.
All others require pierce and delays as part of the tool's operation. Use no offset in the operations section so it draws on the line of the file.
