hi !
i search on the web to find a nesting software that is free to save time to place my part in a sheet metal.
i can draw with autocad, but i need to find a software to optimize the metal sheet...
what are you using that is completely free and simple of utilisation, and can import dwg and dxf...
it don't need to be a software that post my g code, just need to figure how it will be placed...
thanks
nesting software

Re: nesting software
I do it manually.
Have never been able to find a FREE nesting software or one that works very well.

Re: nesting software
If you manage to find such software:
Free
Easy to use
Does a great job
Please let us all know, I think it will turn into the number one thread.
Seems quality nesting software can get very expensive unfortunately. I'm guessing there's a lot of "intelligence" in the programming.
If you can afford Coreldraw it's great for quickly manually nesting parts, plus it also has features for arraying similar parts.

Re: nesting software
I too just nest them in Corel. Every nesting software I have found doesn't do it quite like I want it anyways.
