We are having a problem with some of our art pieces that have fine line detail. We are running a Arclight Dynamics machine with a Powermax 45 plasma cuter. When we cut a piece with fine line detail everything is great except for the fine line detail is never cut. I am wondering whether the curf width of the powermax 45 is too wide and therefore the fine detail is passed over. Is it possible to use consumsbles with narrower kerf width on a 45 or should I look elsewhere for the solution. Has anyone experienced this issue, and if so were you able to solve the problem?
Thanks for your time,
Randy Kimberlin

Re: fine cut consumables for Powermax 45
You can use the 30A consumables for the Powermax 30, they'll cut with a smaller kerf.
I'd look at modifying the drawings instead. Got any pictures of the issues you're having?

What gets cut is not decided by the plasma machine. It is determined in your tool selections in Sheet CAM. I would look more into that process. Is Sheetcam applying tools to those fine lines without any warnings? Are the detail lines polylines and not splines? I don't think SheetCam likes splines, so you may have to rework some of the files you are using.
