I'm getting a #12 in the basic trouble shooting guide, which is the power on (green) and fault (red) lamps are illuminated for 10 seconds after trigger switch is activated. The solution is to check consumables, the consumables are from Harris supply, my problem is that I have a Duramax machine torch on it. The torch is a little over a year old and I haven't run probably more than 50 sheets in that time. I was having the same problem before I replaced the old machine torch with the Duramax. Its also never consistent, one day I can run a few sheets and never have a problem and like today I keep having this problem. I've tried all new consumables and it doesn't make a difference. I'm about ready to pull out the last few hairs I have, any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
John

Re: Hypertherm 1000 Problem
Hypertherm has a great technical service department, for issues like this they are always the best place to call. Since you had the issue before changing torches....I suspect the problem is within the power supply.

Re: Hypertherm 1000 Problem
I talked to hypertherm and they said the same thing about the power supply. I went ahead and purchased a new 45. I purchased it locally, it was actually cheaper than purchasing online. Quick question, does it help to use the 30 amp consumables on thinner materials?

Re: Hypertherm 1000 Problem
The 45 amp shielded consumables do a great job from 26 gauge up through the heaviest materials, and will provide the best consumable life. The advantage to using the 30 amp parts is a slightly narrower kerf width.
