Excel Pricing Worksheet

Post by mdwalker »

I have noticed a lot of discussion on product pricing. Here is the original Excel pricing worksheet (with a few updates and modifications) that I posted a few years back. It has made the rounds through other forums and has been modified several times by other users. Feel free to use it and to modify it to suit your needs.

Worksheet looks good, been messing with it this afternoon, converted it to metric and ??? etc :)

What I'm wondering is how to arrive at the the preset costs like pierce cost and cost per distance cut.

Design time seems easy, metal costs plus 50% is ok too.

I've tried a few figures but not happy with it yet.

I run a home micro business - garden stuff etc but also occasionally get asked to cut custom stuff and find it really hard to keep plucking figures out of the air, this sheet should help when I get the framework correct.

Thanks for the excel spreadsheets guys! Much appreciated! I'm just getting into plate cutting and this will help a lot. Phil@rvc, I have a question about your spreadsheet (I hope you don't think it's a dumb question).... GST & PST. What do those blocks stand for in your spreadsheet? Thank you in advance!

In Canada we have two taxes
Provincial Sales Tax
Goods and Services Tax
Nice EH??
LOL
If you have no Taxes Then those Blocks Should be "0%"

Re: Excel Pricing Worksheet

So if I am reading your spreadsheet correctly the only factor that affects price is material cost, number of pierces and Mark Up???
If I change Total design time it doesn't affect Total job cost
If I change Job Time it doesn't affect Total job cost.
If I change number of pierces Total job cost changes.
If I change Design cost per minute Total job cost doesn't change
If I change Job Cost per minute Total job cost doesn't change.

Doesn't seem right. I am running Xcel 2007 on Windows 10 platform which may be the issue??

Thanks

this a great spread sheet to work from, Up here in Northern Michigan people look at me like I'm insane, they always want it done cheaper bad thing is 45 min away we have a company that has a laser and they are cutting things for a fraction of my cost..So I've had to modify the spreadsheet a little to work for me I do quality over quantity. still a great spreadsheet.

I found this the other day, and thanks a lot to the OP for it. I hope you don't mind but I've adapted it to metric and am happy to share if that's allowed / of interest to anyone?

This should be it. Sorry its taken so long to upload, time is running away at the moment!

There is a tab called 'OMS" - this is my steel supplier. The idea being that I would be able to update the prices centrally rather than modify the front sheet. The front should now run in metric units and GBP.

Feel free to modify / comment etc

James
