hpr 400 replacing gasket in torch body

Post by BrianMick »

I recently bought the torch body gasket replacement kit for an hpr 400xd and replaced all of the orings except this one
see pic

I am not sure how to do this, I can't find in the instructions anywhere on how(as it has a flattened, elongated look to it

Any help would be appreciated. At 1000.00 bucks for a torch body I don't really want to destroy it.

Brian, I had a sheet that showed how, but cant find it, Maybe this will help.
If I remember right, the thinner edge goes dwn, and will find its place on the groove, not in the groove.

Called an old friend of mine today and he was very grumpy but this is what he said... """"""""If The Oring Doesnt Fit, It Dont Go There, That Groove Stays Open, unless the torch is a different model or style, That type of oring is for the offset Sealing """"""""

Wheh, thats all I got from him,,,and thats all I know, :|

I would suggest contacting Hypertherm tech service. They will help in a second, and will give you the correct answer. I have never changed one of those seals......so I do not know the answer!
