exporting mulitlayer dxf file

I'm trying to export a multilayer file to dxf. I think I have done this before but now it doesn't work. All the curves just get exported onto 1 layer. I need this because some of the objects in the file I want to cut with no offset so need a different 'tool' for that. It gets done all the time for engravers also. (I think). Could someone tell me what I'm doing wrong. I use CorelDraw x6 and Sheetcam TNG

X6 has a problem exporting .dxf files through layers. They know about it and have been trying to correct it in further updates or versions. I have had to export individual layers into new drawings and export them them that way.
