Is it worth it for me?

Post by SpartanKen »

I'm new to all this and I'm trying to fill my brain with as much "knowledge" as I can. The machine I ordered comes with Mach3, Sheetcam and Cut 2d. I have never used any of them. With that said, should I be looking into corel for editing? I want to be able to take pictures and make useable files. I will most likely pick up corel 5 if it is recommended, since its pretty cheap (ebay).

Make sure you get the Full Editon of CorelDraw if you buy it. Honestly, its just best to cover your butt and buy it directly from CorelDraw. If you get a pirated version. Your S-O-L

You're up to 4 cents now coz here's my 2 cents - ABSOLUTELY. Well there's my opinion. For me personally a cnc plasma without Coreldraw is like a car without wheels. I even use it to help with my creative nesting ventures, and use it in partnership with 2D cad. To me the software is just as important as the table itself. Software makes the table "sing".

I took a risk with Ebay and got an X5 CD delivered to Australia from the US for $75 (I feel the hate towards me already  ). I thought it must be a dodgy copy and my money will be wasted but it always registers fine with Corel so seems legit. I reckon all the stars were aligned right for that to happen to me though, I'm normally not that lucky.

Approach Ebay like a professional gambler and be ready to lose and not stress about it. For whatever reason my Ebay seller disappeared soon afterwards.

Well, I threw caution to the wind. I bought it from ebay, the seller had 300 plus feedbacks and all positive. Thanks for the replies.

You could have purchased the subscription from corel to keep it updated. I never buy software off ebay! I know some have got lucky but others will get screwed out of 10 times.

Also, it just updated after I registered it. 8-)

Now I'm not saying this is or isn't a bootleg, but if it is, its a very good bootleg.

Can't wait for my machine to show so I can get to playing.
