I have a little picture that I traced and played around with and I am hoping I could get some feedback if it looks all wrong...I used the pen tool and the free hand tool-which I find is very difficult-to do the inside of the flower for detail, its not perfect by any means but I hope I am on the right track..I would like to design things without having to trace is the bezel tool better? Or maybe the artistic tool? Well one thing at a time I guess...
Any comments would be great I take criticism very well, can't get better if I don't know

Sorry I have X5 so I cant open your X6 file to have a look.
Some like to use the Bezier tool but I prefer to work with the Polyline tool and plot points, select all the nodes and convert to curves and then manipulate the lines to follow the trace, the freehand tool I think is more for freehand drawing than tracing.

As Murray has said, convert to curves, then modify it to fit.
To clarify, when I am drawing a circular object, I don't try to draw around the outside of the circle, instead, I just draw a straight line from one side to about 1/3rd of the circle or curve. Then I select the node tool, then select the line, select the "curve" icon on the top bar, then curve the line to match the circle.
See attached....

Oh no, no one can see the picture...How can I change it so everyone can see it??? I would like to know if its something that could be cut...and if I am on the right track, I'd hate to have bad habits right from the start LOL...
Murray and Gamelord, thank you very much, for the most part I use the pen and click all around, but what happens when I go to fix a line to curve and it goes all wonky along with the line on the other side? Or sometimes it stays straight? I can't seem to get it off when that happens and I find myself starting over... Actually thinking about it I don't think I put the object in a box then go to the all nodes...I just jump to all nodes, that might fix it....haha always thinking
So what file do I need to save it as for everyone to be able to see, or how did you open the picture for the screen?? Computer dummy here!!! LOL I'll never catch up to the new generation
Okay, of course I couldn't figure out how to get it to jpg but I can get it in plt..I hope that's a better file..Is there a file that generally anyone can open up?? I have only been working with this program for about a week on and off, so I have many things to get a handle on...
Question....If I have a vector file, what do I do to manipulate it....for example I got this scene that came with signing up, and I would like to delete and add to it...basically change it....so do I put everything in all nodes then go around and delete nodes until the object is gone?? Then I could start from that last node and add to the scene??
I noticed when I watch Steve Good that he has a file with all sorts of shapes that he can pull up at anytime, is this outside of the program? It's probably a cd that he purchased and added it?? I only have the trial version of Coreldraw6 right now and I see many options don't seem to be available...
Oh one more thing, if I design a little thing got it all shaped, how do I flip it over to go on the other side we'll say...for example if I have a " L" and I wanted to copy it but flip it so that its backwards...does any of this make sense?? LOL
I will stop now because I could go on for ever lol...
Thanks for any input, I am very grateful ...

Question 1) Vector files can be manipulated in many ways. To delete things, most of the time you can just select them with the 'picker' tool and then hit the delete button. If the item you want to delete is grouped with another item, meaning there are two separate items but when you select one, the other is selected as well, you will either have to 'ungroup' those items (found under the 'Arrange' pull down menu) or you will need to 'break object apart' which is also found under the 'arrange' pull down menu. Once they are ungrouped or broken apart, you can then select the single items an delete.
If the object you want to delete is joined with another item and is all part of the same object, then you will need to select the 'node' tool and start deleting nodes to remove the object. Once the object is removed you will most likely have to straighten out the areas where the object was removed from. Basically you are altering/editing the object into something new.
Question 2) I am not sure about the shapes that Steve pulls up, this may be a clipart selection or just a larger library that he has accumulated. I haven't watched his videos so I can't say. The trial version of Corel is exactly like the full version, nothing is removed from the trial. Corel however does have other resources that you may be able to download such as extra images or add-ons. Most are free, some you will need to purchase.
Question 3) To flip a design, all you need to do is to select the entire design (or the item you want to flip) and then go to "Transformation" under the "arrange" pulldown. Once you select any of the options, it will open up your "transformation" docker on the right. From there you can manipulate the drawing however you need. Position is the first icon, Rotation is the second, Scale and Mirror is the third icon which is the one you want. To flip the selected object horizontally, select the top icon under "mirror" and then hit the 'apply' button. To flip vertically select the bottom icon and hit apply. You can flip horizontally and vertically at the same time as well by selecting both and hitting apply.
Other question in previous post:
To save as a .jpg, you need to use the 'export' option instead of the 'save as' option. Also, to bring in new objects such as the .dxf drawings into your current drawing you will need to use the 'import' option. You can also open up two drawings at the same time in two different windows, then use the cut-n-paste to bring the second drawing into the first drawing.
Hope that helps.

You say there is no manual, just hit the help button on the top, then help topics and enter a question or keywords and it will list the relevant sections of the built in manual in ranking order.
Murray
Yes the good old help menu...it works more for me now that I understand the lingo etc a bit better, at first the help didn't understand me..LOL I am on my way thanks to everyone with the directions to videos and different sites, especially this one!! I have to thank Justin for that
