Powermax 1000 vs. Powermax 65

Post by 762frmafr »

Can someone please run me down a comparison of these 2 products? Also, can the RS485 board be installed in the Powermax 1000? Thanks for the help.

The Powermax1000 is a 60 amp air plasma system from Hypertherm. It was in production for about 10 years.....and was replaced by the newer technology Powermax65 about 2-1/2 years ago. Parts and service will continue to be available for the Powermax1000 for many years.....and there is a torch upgrade kit that allows you to install a Duramax torch for improved cut quality and consumable life. The Duramax torch is the same torch as used on the Powermax65. You cannot install the serial (RS485) upgrade in a Powermax1000.

The 65 is smaller, lighter, yet has higher power output and a higher duty cycle. It comes with the newer technology Duramax torch with cleaner, squarer cuts and longer consumable parts life. It has a digital readout with full diagnostics, automatic air flow and a new design quick torch disconnect to switch instantly between hand and machine torches. There is an option CPC interface port with multiple divided voltage outputs as well as an optional serial machine interface port.

Feel free to contact me directly with any further questions.
